Przedwcześnie porzucona? Analiza, obrona i reinterpretacja teorii identyczności typów

dc.abstract.enIn recent years, type identity theory was not very popular. It is often considered refuted in the light of various objections, such as the objection of multiple realizability, the conceivability argument, the zombie argument, and the knowledge argument. This work aims to demonstrate that the type identity theory can be defended against the specified objections, and therefore, it can still be an interesting position with significant theoretical potential. In the first chapter, I will reconstruct the type identity theory, using historically significant formulations by U. T. Place, H. Feigl, J. J. C. Smart, and D. M. Armstrong. Additionally, I will present positions alternative to it and arguments formulated in its favour. In the second chapter, I will discuss the most significant objections raised against the type identity theory and show some responses to these objections found in the literature. The third chapter will contain a reinterpretation of the type identity theory to demonstrate potential perspectives for its development. In summary, the goal of the work is to show that discussions on the type identity theory can still be conducted fruitfully.
dc.abstract.plTeoria identyczności w wersji typicznej nie cieszy się aktualnie zbytnią popularnością. Często uznawana jest za obaloną w świetle różnych obiekcji, takich jak zarzut z wielorakiej realizowalności, argument z pojmowalności, argument z zombie oraz argument z wiedzy. Celem tej pracy jest pokazanie, iż teorię identyczności typów można spróbować obronić przed wskazanymi zarzutami, w związku z czym wciąż może być interesującym stanowiskiem o dużym potencjale teoretycznym. W pierwszym rozdziale dokonam rekonstrukcji teorii identyczności typów, posługując się historycznie istotnymi sformułowaniami U. T. Place’a, H. Feigla, J. J. C. Smarta oraz D. M. Armstronga. W kolejnej części tego rozdziału odniosę ją do innych, alternatywnych wobec niej stanowisk, oraz przedstawię argumenty formułowane na jej rzecz. W drugim rozdziale omówię najistotniejsze zarzuty wysuwane pod adresem teorii identyczności typów oraz ukażę, jakie odpowiedzi na owe zarzuty znajdujemy na gruncie literatury przedmiotu. Trzeci rozdział poświęcę na autorską reinterpretację teorii identyczności typów, aby pokazać możliwe perspektywy rozwoju tej teorii. Podsumowując, celem pracy jest ukazanie, że dyskusje na temat teorii identyczności typów mogą nadal owocnie się toczyć.
