dc.abstract.enThe aim of this article is to analyse the entries from the „Steierische Völkertafel“ about Poland-Lithuania and its inhabitants. The answer to the question, which ideas about the early modern Polish Commonwealth the author of the „Völkertafel“ had in mind, enables us to understand better his laconic descriptions. The sources consist of geographical reference works and accounts of journeys, i. e. presumed sources that could be used by the author of the „Völkertafel“.
