Za siebie, jak jest ciemno, to się nigdy nie oglądam - strategie związane z bezpieczeństwem i mobilnością kobiet w Warszawie

Przyczynek do niniejszej pracy stanowi antropologia miasta i fakt, że różnorodni użytkownicy przestrzeni mogą odczuwać ją w odmienny sposób. Ze względu na swoją płeć i kulturowe schematy doświadczania oraz socjalizację, kobiety inaczej postrzegają miasto i dostosowują do tego swoje zachowania – obierane trasy, preferowany środek komunikacji, a nawet strój. Zgromadzony materiał jest efektem badań etnograficznych obejmujących pogłębione, indywidualne wywiady oraz obserwację uczestniczącą na intensywnym, trzymiesięcznym kursie samoobrony dla kobiet realizowanym w stolicy, na który zdecydowała się część rozmówczyń. Oprócz tego, analizie poddane zostały dyskursy i fachowe opracowania dotyczące bezpieczeństwa i mobilności kobiet. Wszystkie te elementy pozwalają na lepsze zrozumienie narracji i praktyk młodych kobiet przemieszczających się po Warszawie oraz wpisanie obieranych przez nie strategii w szerszy kontekst przemocy seksualnej. Tekst zamyka refleksja na temat zauważalnych przemian, rosnącej świadomości i niezgody młodych kobiet na nierównomierne obarczenie ich odpowiedzialnością i kontrolą.

The anthropology of the city and the fact that diverse users of space can experience it differently constitute a contribution to this work. Due to their gender and cultural patterns of experience and socialization, women perceive the city differently and adjust their behavior accordingly - the routes they take, their preferred mode of transportation and even their attire. The collected, presented material is the result of ethnographic research including in-depth, individual interviews and participant observation during an intensive, three-month self-defense course for women held in the capital, which some female interviewees chose to attend. In addition, discourses and professional studies on women's security and mobility were analyzed. All of these elements allow for a better understanding of the narratives and practices of young women on the move in Warsaw, as well as the insertion of the strategies they chose into the broader context of sexual violence. The text is concluded with a reflection on noticeable changes, growing awareness and young women's disagreement with the unequal burden of responsibility and control.
