The Question of Universals: Bolesław Leśmian in Europe and the World

dc.abstract.enThe question of universals helps address the ways in which the unique aspects of Bolesław Leśmian’s literary creation refl ect important concerns of Polish literature and culture. The local and singular becomes international and universal. The article demonstrates that idiomatic, seemingly untranslatable literary works by Bolesław Leśmian enable translators and foreign readers to experience what appears to be a universality of a higher order.
