Proces radykalizacji działalności karteli narkotykowych a ograniczenie funkcjonalności państwa w Meksyku
| dc.abstract.en | The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of drug cartels in Mexico on the functioning of the state. The author indicates that although drug trafficking has been present in Mexico for a long time, in recent years there has been an increase in the violence used by cartels and the radicalization of their activities. With in creasing revenues from their criminal activities, cartels are able to effectively corrupt politicians, intimidate citizens and control most parts of the country. Based on available data and reports on organized crime, the author argues that, in the case of Mexico, there is a progressive radicalization of cartel activity that is causing the dysfunctionality of the state. According to the analysis presented, despite the successive attempts by governments, including the militarization of drug policy and the introduction of the "war on drugs," cartel activity has not been limited, and the Mexican state is not able to provide security to its citizens today. The article will highlight causes of radicalization of cartels and change of position in relation to state institutions. |
