Komunikacja lekarska

The aim of this paper is to present internal medical communication in hospitals and external relationships between medical centers and physicians worldwide. This paper describes the structure of a medical center, grading of medical employees (physicians, nurses, secretaries, etc.), stereotypes of professional groups as well as the ways of communication and barriers to it. What is also presented is medical language as a communication tool in global medical discourse, including the jargon of both patients and doctors. In detail, medical communication is described as realised in different configurations: doctor – patient (– family), physician – physician, including the role of patients’ medical record/history, physician – student/young doctor, and scientific self-development of physicians (scientific conferences, scientific writing, social-media for scientific purposes, etc.). The last topic of this paper is the role and importance of medical translation and interpreting.
