Le grammatiche di François Mesgnien À Meninski

The paper is dedicated to François Mesgnien, a 17th-century scholar of oriental languages and a specialist in lexicography who, during his stay at the Polish court, published in Latin, in the same year (1649), the grammars of three languages which he was in contact with: French, Italian and Polish. Comparing these textbooks allows to study in a contrastive way the methodology of teaching the Romance languages (limited to pronunciation and writing) to Polish speakers, as well as the foreigners’ difficulties connected with Polish phonetics.
