Artyści/stki-imigranci/tki w Helsinkach - wyzwania i możliwości

dc.abstract.enThe subject of this paper is the life of visual artists from various countries who decided to live in Helsinki. It is based on the analysis of results of the qualitative research conducted during a one semester-long stay in the capital of Finland. Using the method of a semi-structured individual interview, the author interviewed three women artists and one male artist about their lives, opportunities and challenges related to living in Finland. The first part of the paper is theoretical and introduces the topic of the specific nature of the visual artist’s profession, taking into account primarily economic issues, the policy of the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture towards national and ethnic diversity in culture, institutions offering support for immigrant artists and describes research methodology. The second one is an analysis of the research results. The interviews with the artists cover topics such as: differences between the respondents' home countries and Finland in terms of artistic education and job opportunities, the way they perceive themselves as members of Finnish society, the reasons why respondents chose Finland as their place of residence, or the impact of living in Finland on the creative process and creative inspirations.
dc.abstract.plTematem niniejszej pracy jest rzeczywistość artystek i artystów wizualnych z różnych państw, którzy zdecydowali się zamieszkać w Helsinkach. Opiera się na analizie wyników badań jakościowych przeprowadzonych podczas trwającego semestr wyjazdu do stolicy Finlandii. Używając metody częściowo ustrukturyzowanego wywiadu indywidualnego, autorka przeprowadziła rozmowy z trzema artystkami i jednym artystą na temat ich życia, możliwości i wyzwań związanych z życiem w Finlandii. Pierwsza część pracy ma charakter teoretyczny i opowiada o specyfice zawodu artysty wizualnego, biorąc pod uwagę przede wszystkim kwestie ekonomiczne, polityce fińskiego Ministerstwa Edukacji i Kultury wobec różnorodności narodowej i etnicznej w kulturze, instytucjach oferujących wsparcie dla artystów/ek-imigrantów/ek oraz metodologii badań. Druga zaś stanowi analizę wyników badań. W wywiadach z artyst(k)ami poruszane są takie tematy, jak m. in.: różnice między krajami ojczystymi osób badanych a Finlandią w kwestiach edukacji artystycznej i możliwości pracy, sposób postrzegania samego/ej siebie jako członka/członkini społeczeństwa fińskiego, powody, dla których badani wybrali Finlandię na miejsce zamieszkania, czy oddziaływanie życia w Finlandii na proces kreatywny i inspiracje twórcze.
