dc.abstract.enThe purpose of this dissertation is to trace the changes that occurred in November 1806 in Warsaw in connection with the entry of the Grande Armée, the recapture of the city and the establishment of a government in the city. The Gazeta Warszawska, which appeared at the time, was used for the study and information was drawn from it, as well as examining how its editors reported the news. The dissertation is divided into two parts. In the first part, the author describes the 'Gazeta Warszawska' itself, comparing its roles during the occupation of the city by the Kingdom of Prussia, and profiles the editors of the newspaper and its audience, as well as determining the reliability of the source material. In the second part, the author presents the daily life of the city and its various spheres: organisational, military, economic, cultural. The author has included an extensive study of new, particularly prominent phenomena - the emergence and development of Napoleonic propaganda combined with the re-establishment of censorship, and the development of independence and reformist thought among Polish Jacobin intellectuals. The author concludes with his thoughts on the influence of French rule on Warsaw.
dc.abstract.plCelem pracy jest prześledzenie zmian, do jakich doszło w listopadzie 1806 roku w Warszawie w związku z wkroczeniem Wielkiej Armii, odzyskaniem miasta i ustanowieniem w mieście rządu. Do badania wykorzystano pojawiającą się wtedy „Gazetę Warszawską” i z niej czerpano informacje, a także zbadano, jak jej redakcja relacjonowała informacje. Praca dzieli się na dwie części. W pierwszej części autor opisuje samą „Gazetę Warszawską”, porównując jej role podczas okupacji miasta przez Królestwo Prus, a także przedstawia sylwetkę redaktorów gazety i jej odbiorców, a także określa wiarygodność materiału źródłowego. W drugiej części autor prezentuje życie codzienne miasta i jej poszczególne sfery: organizacyjna, wojskowa, gospodarcza, kulturalna. Autor umieścił obszerne opracowanie nowych, szczególnie widocznych zjawisk – pojawienie się i rozwój propagandy napoleońskiej połączone z ponownym ustanowieniem cenzury oraz rozwój myśli niepodległościowej i reformatorskiej wśród polskich intelektualistów-jakobinów. W zakończeniu autor umieścił swoją myśl o wpływie francuskiej władzy na Warszawę.
