Celem pracy było zapoznanie się z postawą abstynencką u wyznawców Kościoła Adwentystów Dnia Siódmego. w kontekście rosnącego zainteresowania zdrowiem i stylem życia, podejście adwentystów do abstynencji, szczególnie w odniesieniu do alkoholu, wydaje się zagadnieniem, które warto byłoby pogłębić. Dzięki dostępowi do ścisłej grupy, gdzie taka postawa jest praktykowana, praca dostarcza informacji zarówno o wpływie abstynencji na jednostkę jak i jej odziaływaniu na relacje w grupie. Dzięki przeprowadzonym wywiadom z członkami Kościoła Adwentystów Dnia Siódmego oraz analizie fachowej literatury, praca przedstawia nie tylko teoretyczne fundamenty postawy abstynenckiej, ale również jej praktyczne implikacje w codziennym życiu wyznawców. Analiza literatury pozwoliła na omówienie zagadnień związanych ze spożyciem alkoholu, jego wpływem na zdrowie oraz regulacjami prawnymi dotyczącymi tego obszaru. Dodatkowo zostały przedstawione zagadnienia teoretyczne dotyczące abstynencji i jej biblijnych podstaw w Kościele Adwentystów Dnia Siódmego.

The aim of the study was to familiarize oneself with the abstinent attitude among the followers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In the context of the growing interest in health and lifestyle, the Adventists' approach to abstinence, particularly regarding alcohol, seems to be a topic worth exploring further. With access to a close-knit group where such a stance is practiced, the study provides information on both the impact of abstinence on the individual and its influence on relationships within the group. Through interviews conducted with members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and an analysis of specialized literature, the work presents not only the theoretical foundations of the abstinent attitude but also its practical implications in the daily lives of the followers. The literature analysis allowed for a discussion of issues related to alcohol consumption, its health effects, and legal regulations concerning this area. Additionally, theoretical issues related to abstinence and its biblical foundations in the Seventh-day Adventist Church were also presented.
