Kierunki rozwoju współczesnej informatologii
| dc.abstract.en | The purpose of the article is to show and discuss the most important directions of the development of modern information science. They were preceded by a reminder of the most important definitions of the discipline, its genesis and an explanation of what constitutes its research subject. The explosion of information and communication was indicated as the main research problem of information science. There are discussed the models for solving this problem, that is typical for the research approach used in information science. The evolution of the discipline research program and its intellectual structure is also presented. The discussion of the main directions of research of information science has been organized according to three so-called basic questions pointed out by Marcia Bates, i.e. the directions related to the question about features and laws governing the universe of recorded information and knowledge (bibliometrics and knowledge organization), the directions related to the question of social aspects of the universe (user studies and information and knowledge management), the directions related to the question about design (technological) aspects of the universe (information retrieval), and directions integrating research into these three main aspects (information architecture, digital libraries and information infrastructure of science, culture and social life). Concluding the discussion, the threats to the development of information science have been indicated: the increasing isolationism of its research, the dispersion of its research problems in many other scientific disciplines, and poor recognition of the information science achievements among researchers of information issues originating from other sciences. |
| dc.abstract.pl | Celem artykułu jest wskazanie i omówienie najważniejszych kierunków rozwoju współczesnej nauki o informacji. Poprzedzone zostały one przypomnieniem najważniejszych definicji dyscypliny, jej genezy oraz wyjaśnieniem co stanowi jej przedmiot badawczy. Jako główny problem badawczy nauki o informacji wskazano eksplozję informacji i komunikacji. Omówiono modele rozwiązania tego problemu, charakterystyczne dla podejścia badawczego nauki o informacji. Przedstawiono też ewolucję programu badawczego dyscypliny i jej strukturę intelektualną. Omówienie głównych kierunków badań nauki o informacji zostało uporządkowane według trzech tzw. wielkich pytań wskazanych przez Marcię Bates, tj. na kierunki związane z pytaniem o własności i prawa rządzące uniwersum utrwalonej informacji i wiedzy (bibliometria i organizacja wiedzy), kierunki związane z pytaniem o społeczne aspekty uniwersum utrwalonej informacji i wiedzy (badania użytkowników i zarządzanie informacją i wiedzą), kierunki związane z pytaniem o projektowe (technologiczne) aspekty uniwersum utrwalonej informacji i wiedzy (wyszukiwanie informacji) oraz kierunki integrujące badania nad tymi trzema głównymi aspektami (architektura informacji, biblioteki cyfrowe i informacyjna infrastruktura nauki, kultury i życia społecznego). Podsumowując omówienie wskazano zagrożenia dla rozwoju nauki o informacji: pogłębiający się izolacjonizm jej badań, rozproszenie jej problematyki badawczej w wielu innych dyscyplinach naukowych, słabą znajomość dorobku nauki o informacji wśród badaczy problematyki informacyjnej wywodzących się z innych nauk. |
