dc.abstract.enThis thesis is a comparative analysis of the book La figlia oscura by Elena Ferrante and its film adaptation The Lost Daughter directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Both works tell the story of Leda, a middle-aged professor who while staying at a seaside resort notices a young mother with her daughter who bring her back memories of her motherhood. Ferrante and Gyllenhaal take one on a journey to the darkest parts of the female psyche and show the way society, motherhood and finding one's identity influence it. Leda's character is full of contrasts, her experiences and society's pressure are what make her a character with so many contradictory emotions as well as make decisions that are not always good for her.

dc.abstract.otherQuesta tesi è un'analisi comparativa del libro La figlia oscura di Elena Ferrante e del suo adattamento cinematografico The Lost Daughter diretto da Maggie Gyllenhaal. Entrambe le opere raccontano la storia di Leda, una professoressa di mezza età che durante un soggiorno in una località balneare nota una giovane madre con la figlia che le riportano ricordi della sua maternità. Sia Ferrante che Gyllenhaal ti portano in un viaggio nelle parti più oscure della psiche femminile e mostrano come la società, la maternità e la ricerca della propria identità la influenzano. Il personaggio di Leda è pieno di contrasti, le sue esperienze e la pressione della società sono ciò che la rende un personaggio con così tante emozioni contraddittorie e che prende decisioni che non sempre le vanno bene.
dc.abstract.plPraca stanowi analizę porównawczą książki La figlia oscura Eleny Ferrante i jej adaptacji filmowej The Lost Daughter w reżyserii Maggie Gyllenhaal. Oba dzieła opowiadają historię Ledy – profesorki w średnim wieku, która podczas pobytu w nadmorskim kurorcie kobiety zwraca uwagę na młodą matkę wraz z córką, które przywołują jej wspomnienia z okresu macierzyństwa. Zarówno Ferrante, jak i Gyllenhaal zabierają w podróż do najciemniejszych zakątków kobiecej psychiki i tego, jaki wpływ mają na nią społeczeństwo, macierzyństwo i poszukiwanie własnej tożsamości. Postać Ledy jest pełna przeciwieństw i kontrastów, jej bagaż doświadczeń i presja otoczenia są tym, co sprawia, że ma w sobie wiele sprzecznych emocji i podejmuje decyzje, które nie zawsze wychodzą jej na dobre.
