Константин Бальмонт – переводчик Яна Каспровича

Uproszczony widok
The article examines the conceptualization of the Polish theme in the works of Konstantin Balmont, a poet and a writer representing the older generation of Russian Symbolists. Balmont translated the poetry of J. Slowacki and A. Mickiewicz as well as Polish fold songs. He personally knew many representatives of the modernist "Young Poland", yet it was Jan Kasprowicz who was especially close to him. The first translations of Kasprowicz’ poetry were published by Balmont at the beginning of the 20th century. The most intense contact with the works of the Polish modernist took place in the 1920s, when the book "Jan Kasprowicz: a Poet of the Polish Soul" and the translation of "The Book of The Poor" were published.
