Der heiligen Stadt Cöllen Geschichten‘, Annolied, Grimmelshausen, Heine, w: Kaja Gostkowska

The article serves to reflect on the historical phenomenon of the city Cologne, on the life and character of its inhabitants represented in the literary works of various eras. The main issues discussed in it are a question about specific sources of poetic inspiration (eg. history, religion, architecture, cultural specific- ity) and methods of transposing thoughts into the fiction. The analysis will be focused on Vita Annonis, or the so-called Annolied, Sim- plizissimus Teutsch by Jakob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen and poetry by Heinrich Heine. All these works are considered prominent, they differ in terms of time of creation, form and basic themes, but they reflect the culture-forming role of the city.
