La maladie créative: la perception de la folie dans Aurélia de Gérard de Nerval et Le Livre rouge de Carl Gustav Jung

dc.abstract.enThis paper aims to present the multifaceted connections between Gérard de Nerval’s Aurélia and Carl Gustav Jung’s The Red Book. Both works are literary testimonies of mental illness. On the one hand, they are an attempt at artistic self-therapy, enabling the authors to understand their own personal myth. On the other hand, they are psychological manifestos in literary form. The present work is divided into three parts. Part one provides the context for the creation of both works and analyzes the literary representation of mental illness. The second part compares the beliefs of the two protagonists, focusing, among other things, on their attitude toward their own inner experiences. The third focuses on the universal dimension of the two texts, treating them as a still relevant critique of reductionistic psychology and psychotherapy.

dc.abstract.otherLe présent travail vise à présenter les relations multiformes entre Aurélia de Gérard de Nerval et Le Livre Rouge de Carl Gustav Jung. Les deux œuvres constituent des témoignages littéraires de la maladie mentale. Elles sont, d’une part, une tentative d’autothérapie artistique permettant aux auteurs de comprendre leur mythe personnel et, d’autre part, des manifestes psychologiques sous forme littéraire. Le présent travail est divisé en trois parties. La première présente le contexte de la rédaction des deux œuvres et analyse la représentation littéraire de la maladie mentale. La deuxième examine les convictions des deux protagonistes, en se concentrant, entre autres, sur leur attitude à l’égard de leurs expériences. La troisième se concentre sur la dimension universelle des textes et les envisage comme une critique toujours valable de la psychologie et psychothérapie réductionniste.
dc.abstract.plNiniejsza praca ma na celu przedstawienie wielopłaszczyznowych związków między Aurélią Gérarda de Nerval a Czerwoną Księgą Carla Gustava Junga. Oba dzieła są literackimi świadectwami choroby psychicznej. Po pierwsze, stanowią one próbę autoterapii poprzez sztukę, umożliwiającą obu autorom zrozumienie własnego mitu osobistego; po drugie, są swoistymi manifestami psychologicznymi w formie literackiej. Niniejsza praca podzielona jest na trzy części. Część pierwsza przedstawia kontekst powstania obu dzieł i analizuje sposób przedstawienia choroby psychicznej. Część druga porównuje przekonania obu protagonistów, koncentrując się, między innymi, na ich stosunku wobec własnych doświadczeń wewnętrznych. Część trzecia skupia się na uniwersalnym wymiarze obu tekstów, postrzegając je jako wciąż aktualną krytykę redukcjonistycznej psychologii i psychoterapii.
