Gender humour from the perspective of conceptual blending theory: An analysis of sexist jokes

dc.abstract.enThis thesis explores the relationship between humor and gender, particularly focusing on how humor reflects and reinforces gender roles and stereotypes. The study is grounded in Conceptual Blending Theory, which provides a framework for understanding how gender-based humor is created. The first chapter provides theoretical background information on humor in general and gender humor in particular, as well as discusses major humor theories.The second chapter introduces Conceptual Blending Theory, which serves as a tool to analyze selected sexist jokes targeting both men and women in the final chapler.
dc.abstract.plNiniejsza praca bada związek między humorem a płcią ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tego, jak humor odzwierciedla role płciowe i stereotypy oraz je utrwala. Aby wyjaśnić mechanizm powstawania humoru powiązanego z płcią, praca wykorzystuje aparat metodologiczny teorii amalgamatów pojęciowych. Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia zagadnienia związane z humorem oraz omawia najważniejsze teorie humoru. Rozdział drugi wprowadza teori, amalgamatów pojęciowych, przy pomocy której, w rozdziale trzecim pracy, jest przeprowadzana analiza dowcipów seksistowskich skierowanych zarówno do kobiet jak i mężczyzn.
