Działania muzeów wobec roszczeń i obowiązków restytucyjnych: strategie wystawiennicze i komunikacyjne

dc.abstract.en	The dissertation is an analysis of museums' exhibition and communication strategies in cases where they face restitution claims made against them by private individuals and states. The analysis is made on the basis of selected examples. The first part of the work covers exhibition strategies of museums in connection with the obligation to restitute a work of art or other object, while the second part covers communication strategies and actions taken by museums facing such claims. The work focuses on analyzing the solutions that museums have adopted in their permanent and temporary exhibitions in connection with restitutions, such as organizing exhibitions devoted exclusively to the returned work, or putting the work on long-term lease. In addition, the ways in which museums communicate the fact that a work of art or other object has been returned and the actions that museums take when restitution is refused are discussed. In particular, the cases of claims made by states and peoples of origin are analyzed, as these are issues frequently raised in the media. As a result, museums cannot remain indifferent to them and take a series of actions, such as cultural cooperation or expanding information about works in exhibitions to include the history of the object and the culture of the country where it comes from. The paper is a discussion of the aforementioned actions in the context of constantly changing legal framework, as well as in the context of museums' moral and ethical duties towards the original owners of the objects.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca stanowi omówienie strategii wystawienniczych i komunikacyjnych muzeów wobec roszczeń restytucyjnych kierowanych wobec nich przez osoby prywatne i państwa na wybranych przykładach. Pierwsza część pracy obejmuje strategie wystawiennicze muzeów w związku z obowiązkiem restytucji dzieła sztuki bądź innego obiektu, zaś druga – strategie komunikacyjne i działania publiczne muzeów wobec takich roszczeń. Praca skupia się na analizie rozwiązań, które muzea przyjęły w ramach swoich eskpozycji stałych i czasowych w związku z dokonanymi restytucjami, takich jak organizacja wystaw poświęconych wyłącznie zwracanemu dziełu, czy też oddanie dzieła w długoterminowy najem. Ponadto, omówione zostały sposoby komunikowania przez muzea faktu dokonania zwrotu dzieła sztuki bądź innego obiektu i działań, które muzea podejmują w sytuacji, gdy dochodzi do odmowy zwrotu. W szczególności przeanalizowane zostały przypadki roszczeń kierowanych przez państwa i społeczności etniczne, gdyż są to kwestie często poruszane w mediach, zatem muzea nie mogą pozostawać na nie obojętne i podejmują serię działań, takich jak współpraca kulturowa czy poszerzanie informacji o dziełach na wystawach o historię obiektu i kulturę kraju, z którego pochodzi. Praca stanowi omówienie wspomnianych działań w kontekście zmian ram prawnych, w ramach których operują muzea, a także ich obowiązków moralnych i etycznych wobec pierwotnych właścicieli obiektów sztuki i kultury.
