Historia, doktryna i społeczne oddziaływanie japońskiej sekty Aum Shinrikyō

dc.abstract.en	The authoress examines the history, doctrine, and social impact of the Aum Shinrikyō sect in Japan. She outlines the development of Japan’s new religious movements up to the 1970s in order to clarify the socio‑historical conditions that enabled the emergence of the organization. She discusses the causes and course of the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attack, carried out by members of Aum Shinrikyō — an act of violent extremism that resulted in severe harm and loss of life. She analyzes the mechanisms of psychological manipulation within the sect, seeking to explain why so many young people, including graduates of elite universities, chose to join Aum Shinrikyō. The author also highlights the ways in which the group appropriated contemporary trends in Japanese popular culture for self‑promotion, as well as the references to the sect found in selected manga and anime.

XX w., aby wyjaśnić okoliczności powstania organizacji w kontekście społeczno – historycznym. Przedstawia powody oraz przebieg zamachu terrorystycznego w tokijskim metrze z 1995 r., który został przeprowadzony przez członków Aum Shinrikyō. Analizuje problem psychomanipulacji w sekcie starając się odpowiedzieć na pytanie, dlaczego tak wielu młodych ludzi o wykształceniu wyższym, na elitarnych uczelniach zdecydowało się dołączyć do Aum Shinrikyō. Zwraca także uwagę na to, w jaki sposób sekta ta wykorzystała w autopromocji aktualne trendy w kulturze popularnej Japonii oraz na nawiązania do niej w wybranych mangach i anime.
