Presja perfekcji i jej konsekwencje. Kreowanie i dekonstrukcja stereotypu idealnej nastolatki na przykładzie „Westwood Academy” Weroniki Ancerowicz

dc.abstract.en	The aim of the work is to analyze the pressure of perfection and its consequences in the context of creating and deconstructing the stereotype of an ideal teenager on the example of Weronika Ancerowicz's Westwood Academy series. Particular attention was paid to the main character - Natalie Forbes, whose image is a model example of a teenager who meets the requirements of both school and home environments, and at the same time, her portrayal reveals numerous contradictions. The first chapter discusses the cultural and social conditions of the stereotype of an ideal woman, and therefore also of a teenager. The second chapter presents the specifics of the functioning of the category of young adult literature. Chapters three and four are devoted to the analysis of Natalie Forbes as an example of both the implementation and challenge of the stereotype in question. The elements that build her ideal image and those that deconstruct it are indicated, such as reaching for stimulants, family problems or the need to keep up appearances. The analysis leads to the conclusion that the stereotype of the ideal teenager is a social construct that generates tensions and promotes risky behavior. The novel shows its illusory nature and points to the gap between social expectations and the real experience of young people.

Szczególną uwagę poświęcono głównej bohaterce – Natalie Forbes, której wizerunek stanowi modelowy przykład nastolatki spełniającej wymagania środowiska zarówno szkolnego, jak i domowego, a jednocześnie w jej kreacji ujawniają się liczne sprzeczności. W rozdziale pierwszym poruszono kulturowe i społeczne uwarunkowania stereotypu idealnej kobiety, co za tym idzie – również nastolatki. Rozdział drugi przybliża specyfikę funkcjonowania kategorii literatury young adult. Rozdziały trzeci i czwarty poświęcono analizie postaci Natalie Forbes jako przykładu zarówno realizacji, jak i podważenia omawianego stereotypu. Wskazane zostają elementy budujące jej idealny wizerunek oraz te, które go dekonstruują, takie jak sięganie po używki, problemy rodzinne czy konieczność utrzymywania pozorów. Przeprowadzona analiza prowadzi do wniosku, że stereotyp idealnej nastolatki ma charakter konstruktu społecznego, który generuje napięcia i sprzyja powstawaniu zachowań ryzykownych. Powieść ukazuje jego iluzoryczność oraz wskazuje na rozdźwięk między społecznymi oczekiwaniami a rzeczywistym doświadczeniem młodych ludzi.
