La construcción del protagonista y la estructura del relato detectivesco en A Study in Scarlet de Arthur Conan Doyle y El misterio de la cripta embrujada de Eduardo Mendoza

dc.abstract.en	The aim of this thesis is to conduct a comparative analysis of the construction of the protagonists and the structure of the detective novel in Arthur Conan Doyle's “A Study in Scarlet” and Eduardo Mendoza's “El misterio de la cripta embrujada”. The theoretical part will present a brief summary of the history of the development of the detective novel worldwide and in Spain, will describe the most important subgenres of this literary genre and will present the rules governing the construction of protagonists in crime novels, along with the principles that underpin the structure of this genre, based on Tzvetan Todorov’s study and the theories of S.S. Van Dine and Raymond Chandler. In the analytical section, a comparative analysis will be carried out of the characteristics of the protagonists and the structure of the novel in both works in order to ascertain whether the protagonists and plot structure of Doyle’s and Mendoza’s works fulfil the criteria described in the theories of Todorov, Van Dine and Chandler.

dc.abstract.other	El objetivo de este trabajo es comparar la construcción del protagonista y la estructura narrativa en las novelas detectivescas «A Study in Scarlet» de Arthur Conan Doyle y «El misterio de la cripta embrujada» de Eduardo Mendoza. En la parte teórica se presentará un breve resumen de la historia del desarrollo de la novela criminal en el mundo y en España. Luego, se describirán los subgéneros más importantes de este género literario. A continuación, basándose en el estudio de Tzvetan Todorov y en las teorías de S. S. Van Dine y Raymond Chandler, se presentarán las reglas de construcción de los protagonistas de las novelas criminales, así como los principios que rigen la estructura de este género. En la parte analítica, basándose en el estudio de Todorov y en las teorías de Van Dine y Chandler, se llevará a cabo un análisis comparativo de las características de los protagonistas y de la estructura en ambas obras para averiguar si Doyle y Mendoza cumplen los objetivos descritos en las teorías de Todorov, Van Dine y Chandler.
dc.abstract.pl	Celem pracy jest porównanie sposobu przedstawienia głównego bohatera oraz struktury fabularnej w powieściach kryminalnych ,,A Study in Scarlet” Arthura Conana Doyle’a i ,,El misterio de la cripta embrujada” Eduardo Mendozy. W części teoretycznej zostanie przedstawiony krótki rys historyczny rozwoju powieści kryminalnej na świecie i w Hiszpanii, a także zostaną opisane najważniejsze podgatunki kryminału. Następnie, opierając się na opracowaniu Tzvetana Todorova oraz teoriach S.S. Van Dine’a i Raymonda Chandlera, zostaną zaprezentowane reguły konstrukcji głównych bohaterów w powieściach kryminalnych oraz zasady strukturyzacji powieści kryminalnych. W części analitycznej zostanie przeprowadzona analiza porównawcza głównych bohaterów oraz struktury fabularnej ,,A Study in Scarlet” i ,,El misterio de la cripta embrujada”, a także zestawienie powyższych elementów z teoriami Todorova, Van Dine'a oraz Chandlera w celu sprawdzenia, czy protagoniści i struktura dzieł Doyle'a i Mendozy spełniają warunki opisane w teoriach Todorova, Van Dine'a i Chandlera.
