Koegzystencja dużych drapieżników z ludźmi na przykładzie niedźwiedzia brunatnego (Ursus arctos L.)

dc.abstract.en	The thesis describes the process of coexistence between the brown bear in the Polish part of the Carpathians and and humans. The study is based on a review of the literature, internet sources, and media reports. It includes a description of the species and the threats to its population. The social perception of the brown bear is discussed, including both the historical and current image of the predator in culture, ranging from examples of religious beliefs to literature and filmography. The nature of conflicts arising from the coexistence of bears and humans in the environment is analysed. These conflicts result, among other factors, from increasing anthropogenic pressure, environmental changes, habitat fragmentation, and the loss of natural habitats. Methods of preventing such conflicts, aimed at supporting both nature conservation and human well-being, are described, along with examples of applied projects that implement these practices while assessing their effectiveness. The issue is broad and can be examined from many perspectives; therefore, an effort was made to understand both the ecological and human perspectives as a prerequisite for sustainable coexistence. The thesis concludes with findings based on the reviewed literature and the author's own observations.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca dotyczy procesu koegzystencji populacji niedźwiedzia brunatnego i człowieka w polskiej części Karpat. Opracowanie opiera się na przeglądzie literatury, źródeł internetowych i doniesień medialnych. Obejmuje charakterystykę gatunku, stanu jego ochrony w Polsce oraz zagrożeń populacji. Omówiono odbiór społeczny niedźwiedzia brunatnego, w tym historyczny i współczesny obraz drapieżnika w kulturze od przykładów wierzeń religijnych po przykłady dzieł literackich i filmów. Przeanalizowano charakter konfliktów wynikających z koegzystencji niedźwiedzi i ludzi w środowisku, które wynikają między innymi z rosnącej antropopresji, przekształceń środowiska, fragmentacji i utraty naturalnych siedlisk. Scharakteryzowano sposoby zapobiegania konfliktom, zapewniające wsparcie przyrodzie i ludziom oraz przykłady projektów aplikacyjnych, które wprowadzają te praktyki w życie, jednocześnie sprawdzając ich skuteczność. Zagadnienie jest obszerne i może być ukazywane w wielu perspektywach – dążono do zrozumienia perspektyw przyrodniczej i ludzkiej, jako warunku zrównoważonej koegzystencji. Opracowanie zostało podsumowane sformułowaniem wniosków bazujących na wykonanym przeglądzie literatury oraz własnych spostrzeżeniach.
