Mitologiczne źródła ”Pieśni lodu i ognia”

dc.abstract.en	The following work focuses on the search for mythological references that can be found in A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. Greek and Norse myths, as well as Zoroastrian beliefs, were selected for detailed research. Classical Homeric epics, inspirations from Scandinavian tales, and possible references to the hero archetype were also analyzed. Their influence on the construction of the saga's plot and the creation of fictional characters were examined. Minor references to other fantasy authors or popular culture were also mentioned. In order to describe the problem in detail, research on individual myths and texts and articles devoted to fairy-tale fantasy were used. They were compared with the plot events of Martin's works in order to consider the intensity and scope of inspiration. The work also used texts created by readers of A Song of Ice and Fire. The author cited them with the awareness of their uncertain status. A thorough analysis of selected myths has shown that Martin often uses a variety of myths and beliefs to create a complex plot. However, it is important to remember not to fall into the trap of patterns and motifs that repeat themselves in mythological stories.
dc.abstract.pl	Poniższa praca skupia się na poszukiwaniach nawiązań mitologicznych możliwych do odnalezienia w Pieśni lodu i ognia autorstwa George’a R.R. Martina. Do szczegółowych badań zostały wybrane mity greckie i nordyckie, a także wierzenia zaratusztriańskie. Przeanalizowano również klasyczne eposy Homera, inspiracje skandynawskimi opowieściami, a także możliwe odniesienia do archetypu bohatera. Zbadano ich wpływy na konstrukcję fabuły sagi oraz tworzenie fikcyjnych bohaterów. Wspomniane zostały także pomniejsze odniesienia do innych autorów fantasy czy też kultury popularnej. W celu szczegółowego opisania problemu wykorzystano badania dotyczące poszczególnych mitów oraz teksty i artykuły poświęcone fantastyce baśniowej. Porównano je z wydarzeniami fabularnymi dzieł Martina, by móc rozważyć intensywność i zakres inspiracji. W pracy zostały wykorzystane także teksty stworzone przez czytelników Pieśni lodu i ognia. Autorka przywołała je ze świadomością ich niepewnego statusu. Dokładna analiza wybranych mitów pozwoliła stwierdzić, że Martin często korzysta z różnorodnych mitów i wierzeń, by tworzyć skomplikowaną fabułę. Należy jednak pamiętać, by nie wpaść w pułapkę wzorców oraz motywów, które powtarzają się w mitologicznych opowieściach.
