Fenomen artysty. Kształtowanie pamięci o Oliverze Dragojeviću we współczesnej Chorwacji

dc.abstract.en	The way an artist is remembered depends on many factors, ranging from their personality during their lifetime to the achievements they accomplished. This thesis examines the process through which the phenomenon of an artist is created and how their memory is shaped after death. Using the example of Oliver Dragojević, a legend of the Croatian music scene, it explores how his memory is constructed in Croatia and highlights his role as a carrier of values and nostalgia. The biographical overview presented in the thesis provides insight into the artist’s personality and the factors that shaped him both as a person and as a musician. An outstanding singer, a legend, great artist, and an icon are just some of the descriptions used for him in Croatia. The reactions of both the media and the public to his passing demonstrate the significance of his role in Croatian culture and society. The thesis discusses various forms of commemorating Oliver Dragojević in Croatia, from concerts to the museum currently being developed in his honor. At the same time, it emphasizes the unique importance of Vela Luka as Oliver’s favorite place and explains why it continues to evoke such strong associations with the artist. Statements from Dragojević’s family and friends, together with the concept of the planned museum, help illustrate the mechanisms through which the memory of the musician is created and preserved in contemporary Croatia.

W pracy przedstawiono proces powstawania fenomenu artysty oraz kształtowania pamięci o nim po śmierci. Na przykładzie legendy chorwackiej sceny muzycznej, Olivera Dragojevicia, ukazano, w jaki sposób tworzy się pamięć o nim w Chorwacji oraz jego rolę jako nośnika wartości i nostalgii. Opis biografii przybliża osobowość artysty oraz czynniki, które ukształtowało go jako człowieka i muzyka. Wspaniały piosenkarz, legenda, wielki artysta, jedyny w swoim rodzaju głos i ikona, to tylko niektóre przykłady określeń artysty używanych Chorwacji. Reakcje mediów i społeczeństwa na jego odejście świadczą o tym, jak ważną postacią był dla chorwackiej kultury i społeczeństwa. Przedstawiono różne formy upamiętniania Olivera w Chorwacji od koncertów, po powstające muzeum poświęcone artyście. Jednocześnie ukazano wyjątkowość Vela Luki jako ulubionego miejsca Olivera oraz wyjaśniono, dlaczego właśnie to miejsce tak silnie przypomina ludziom o artyście. Wypowiedzi bliskich Dragojevicia jak i przedstawiona koncepcja planowanego muzeum poświęconego artyście pozwala ukazać mechanizmy tworzenia i utrwalania pamięci o muzyku we współczesnej Chorwacji.
