Portret sceny Ballroom w Polsce: Fotograficzne studium społeczności.

dc.abstract.en	The aim of this work is to introduce audiences to the rich culture of the Ballroom community. The project portrays this community as a space of resistance, freedom and identity affirmation for marginalised people, particularly queer and transgender people. At the heart of Ballroom culture, balls combine performance, vogue dance, fashion and competition to showcase gender as a performative construct. The space enables the creation of new forms of expression and the building of safe interpersonal relationships. This thesis details the development of Ballroom culture globally and in Poland. Particular attention is given to key figures, houses, activists and artists who have played a significant role in shaping and promoting this culture. The photographic part of the work documents the free expression of participants in the Ballroom scene, highlighting the beauty, strength and authenticity inherent in individuals and the community. This project aims not only to document, but also to affirm the visibility of marginalised people, for whom the Ballroom is a space of self-determination, healing and creative freedom.
dc.abstract.pl	Celem niniejszej pracy jest przybliżenie odbiorcom bogatej kultury społeczności Ballroom. Projekt ukazuje tę wspólnotę jako przestrzeń oporu, wolności i afirmacji tożsamości dla osób marginalizowanych, w szczególności osób queer i transpłciowych. Bale, stanowiące centralny element kultury Ballroom, łączą w sobie performance, taniec vogue, modę i rywalizację, ukazując płeć jako performatywny konstrukt. Przestrzeń ta umożliwia tworzenie nowych form ekspresji oraz budowanie bezpiecznych relacji międzyludzkich. Niniejsza praca szczegółowo opisuje rozwój kultury Ballroom na świecie i w Polsce. Szczególna uwaga została poświęcona kluczowym postaciom, domom (houses) oraz aktywistom i artystom, którzy odegrali znaczącą rolę w kształtowaniu i propagowaniu tej kultury. Część fotograficzna pracy dokumentuje swobodną ekspresję uczestników sceny Ballroom, podkreślając piękno, siłę i autentyczność tkwiące w jednostkach oraz wspólnocie. Projekt ten ma na celu nie tylko dokumentację, ale również afirmację widzialności osób z marginesów społecznych, dla których Ballroom jest przestrzenią samostanowienia, uzdrowienia i twórczej wolności.
