Prompted by, czyli nowa praktyka literacka? O literaturze (współ)tworzonej przez sztuczną inteligencję na przykładach: I Am Code. With a poetical autobiography by code davinci-002, 1 the Road oraz The Inner Life of an AI: A Memoir by ChatGPT

dc.abstract.enThis work form an attempt to discuss and characterize literary practice of using artificial intelligence programs in the creative process. Its target is to analyze this phenomenon based on the interpretation of three machine-generated works, i.e. „I Am Code. With a poetical autobiography by code-davinci-002”, „1 the Road” and „The Inner Life of an AI: A Memoir by ChatGPT”. The main threads addressed in the work include the problem of authorship of AI works, the issue of intentionality and consciousness of artificial intelligence, as well as the literary nature of machine works. The dilatation is based on the close reading technique and the comparative method. The analysis conducted has shown that artificial intelligence cannot be responsible for machine-generated works, because it is not a subject in the light of the law. It is necessary to speak of the hierarchical structure of authorship in AI literature, in which the human (the initiator) holds the highest position. Moreover, the conclusions drawn from the work indicate a lack of consciousness of AI programs, although literary fiction presents artificial intelligence as a being endowed with a self. The analysis also revealed that the most popular themes in machine-generated works are: self-reflection, discovering identity, the „human-machine” relationship and various visions of the future. The work demonstrated the complexity of works cocreated by AI – just as the types and genres of human creativity, machine-generated works differ from each other in form and subject area, and one cannot deny their literariness.
dc.abstract.plNiniejsza praca stanowi próbę omówienia oraz scharakteryzowania praktyki literackiej wykorzystującej programy sztucznej inteligencji w procesie twórczym. Jej celem jest przeprowadzenie analizy tego zjawiska na podstawie interpretacji trzech dzieł wygenerowanych maszynowo, tj. „I Am Code. With a poetical autobiography by code-davinci-002”, „1 the Road” oraz „The Inner Life of an AI: A Memoir by ChatGPT”. Główne wątki podejmowane w pracy to m. in. problem autorstwa dzieł AI, kwestia intencjonalności oraz świadomości sztucznej inteligencji, a także literackość utworów maszynowych. Wywód oparty został na technice „close reading” oraz metodzie porównawczej. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że sztuczna inteligencja nie może odpowiadać za dzieła wygenerowane maszynowo, gdyż nie stanowi podmiotu w świetle prawa. Należy mówić o hierarchicznym układzie autorstwa literatury AI, w którym człowiek (inicjator) zajmuje najwyższą pozycję. Ponadto wnioski płynące z pracy wskazują na brak świadomości programów AI, choć fikcja literacka przedstawia sztuczną inteligencję jako istotę obdarzoną jaźnią. Analiza ujawniła także, że najpopularniejsze motywy występujące w dziełach wygenerowanych maszynowo to: autorefleksja, odkrywanie własnej tożsamości, relacja „człowiek-maszyna” oraz różne wizje przyszłości. Praca ukazała złożoność dzieł współtworzonych przez AI – podobnie jak rodzaje i gatunki ludzkiej twórczości, utwory wygenerowane maszynowo różnią się od siebie formą oraz tematyką, nie można również odmawiać im literackości.
