dc.abstract.en	The bachelor’s thesis analyzes the historical and linguistic relationship between Portuguese and Galician, focusing on their common origin and subsequent evolution. The first part discusses the historical context, highlighting the development of both languages from Vulgar Latin and the influence of political and cultural changes that led to their differentiation. It also presents the key factors influencing linguistic divergence, such as geography, contact with other languages (Spanish and Arabic), and language policies implemented in both Portugal and Galicia. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the lexical relationship between modern Portuguese and Galician. It examines their shared vocabulary, differences in the formation of neologisms, and the impact of globalization on both languages. It also explores the debate regarding the degree of closeness between the two languages, considering both arguments supporting their mutual intelligibility and those emphasizing their autonomy. Special attention is given to the reintegrationist movement in Galicia, which seeks closer linguistic integration with Portuguese. The thesis concludes with reflections on the future of the relationship between these languages and a summary of their coexistence.

dc.abstract.other	Essa tese de licenciatura analisa as relações históricas e linguísticas entre o português e o galego, com foco na sua origem comum e na evolução posterior. A primeira parte discute o contexto histórico, destacando o desenvolvimento de ambas as línguas a partir do latim vulgar, assim como a influência das transformações políticas e culturais que levaram à sua diferenciação. Também são apresentados os principais fatores que influenciaram a divergência linguística, como a geografia, o contato com outras línguas (como o espanhol e o árabe) e as políticas linguísticas adotadas em Portugal e na Galícia. A segunda parte da tese é dedicada às relações lexicais entre o português moderno e o galego. Procede-se à análise dovocabulário comum selecionado, as diferenças na formação de neologismos e o impacto da globalização sobre ambas as línguas. É ainda apresentada a discussão sobre o grau de proximidade entre os dois idiomas, levando em consideração tanto os argumentos que defendem a sua intercompreensão quanto os que destacam a sua autonomia. Uma atenção especial é dada ao movimento reintegracionista na Galícia, que busca uma maior integração linguística com o português. O estudo conclui com uma reflexão acerca o futuro das relações entre essas línguas e um resumo da sua convivência mútua.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca licencjacka analizuje historyczne i językowe relacje między językiem portugalskim a galisyjskim, koncentrując się na ich wspólnym pochodzeniu i późniejszej ewolucji. W pierwszej części omawiany jest kontekst historyczny, w którym zostaje podkreślony rozwój obu języków z łaciny ludowej oraz wpływ przemian politycznych i kulturowych, które doprowadziły do ich odrębności. Przedstawione są również kluczowe czynniki wpływające na różnicowanie się języków, takie jak geografia, kontakty z innymi językami (m.in. hiszpańskim i arabskim) oraz polityki językowe stosowane w Portugalii i Galicji. Druga część pracy poświęcona jest relacjom leksykalnym między współczesnym portugalskim a galisyjskim. Analizuje poddane wybrane leksemy, mechanizmy słowotwórcze neologizmów oraz wpływ globalizacji na oba języki. Przedstawiona jest również debata odnośnie do stopnia bliskości języków, uwzględniająca zarówno argumenty za ich wzajemną zrozumiałością, jak i te podkreślające ich autonomię. Szczególna uwaga zwrócona jest na ruch reintegracjonistyczny w Galicji, który dąży do większej integracji językowej z portugalskim. Praca zakończona jest wnioskami dotyczącymi przyszłości relacji między językami oraz podsumowaniem ich wzajemnej koegzystencji.
