Sposoby przedstawienia mężczyzn w wybranych filmach chińskiego reżysera Chena Kaige

dc.abstract.en	The thesis entitled The ways of presenting mankind in selected movies by the Chinese director Chen Kaige is dedicated to analyzing the construction of male characters in the director‘s works. It focuses on the depiction of masculinity within the Chinese cultural context and on how Chen presents men not as dominant or antagonistic figures, but as complex characters existing beyond a simple gender binary. Drawing on postmodern theories of gender and identity, the thesis demonstrates that in films such as Yellow Earth, Together, and Farewell My Concubine, the director problematizes traditional male roles against the backdrop of the socio-cultural transformations of twentieth-century China.

Skupia się na budowaniu wizerunku męskości w chińskim kontekście kulturowym oraz na tym, jak Chen ukazuje mężczyzn nie jako dominujących i antagonistycznych, ale jako postaci złożone, funkcjonujące poza prostym podziałem płci. Odwołując się do postmodernistycznych teorii płci i tożsamości, praca wskazuje, że w filmach takich jak Żółta ziemia, Dwa światy czy Żegnaj moja konkubino, reżyser problematyzuje tradycyjne role męskie na tle przemian społeczno-kulturowych XX wiecznych Chin.
