Model kobiecości w literaturze young adult i jego filmowa reinterpretacja na przykładzie postaci Belli Swan w „Zmierzchu” Stephenie Meyer i jego adaptacji w reżyserii Catherine Hardwicke

dc.abstract.en	The aim of this work is to analyze the model of femininity presented in young adult literature and to examine the method of its reinterpretation in a film adaptation, using the example of the character Isabella Swan from Stephenie Meyer's novel Twilight (2005) and its film adaptation directed by Catherine Hardwicke (2008). The work focuses on comparing the literary and cinematic portrayal of the protagonist, with particular emphasis on her character traits, emotionality, agency, and relationship with Edward Cullen. Another significant objective of the research is to demonstrate how the adaptation process influences the reception of the female character and which meanings associated with femininity are preserved, modified, or transformed during the translation from the language of literature to the language of film. The analysis is embedded within the context of young adult literature, paranormal romance, adaptation theory, and feminist criticism. Special attention is dedicated to the methods of constructing female protagonists in contemporary popular culture, as well as the shifts in models of femininity related to the development of postfeminist narratives. The work also reflects upon the significance of vampirism and transformation in the context of female identity. The conducted considerations allow for the conclusion that both the novel and its film adaptation participate in shaping contemporary perceptions of femininity.
dc.abstract.pl	Celem pracy jest analiza modelu kobiecości przedstawionego w literaturze young adult oraz zbadanie sposobu jego reinterpretacji w adaptacji filmowej na przykładzie postaci Isabelli Swan z powieści Zmierzch (2005) Stephenie Meyer i jej ekranizacji w reżyserii Catherine Hardwicke (2008). Praca koncentruje się na porównaniu literackiego i filmowego wizerunku bohaterki ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem jej cech charakteru, emocjonalności, sprawczości oraz relacji z Edwardem Cullenem. Istotnym celem badań jest również ukazanie, w jaki sposób proces adaptacji wpływa na odbiór kobiecej postaci oraz jakie znaczenia związane z kobiecością zostają zachowane, zmodyfikowane lub przekształcone w przekładzie z języka literatury na język filmu. Analiza została osadzona w kontekście literatury young adult, romansu paranormalnego, teorii adaptacji oraz krytyki feministycznej. Szczególna uwaga poświęcona została sposobom konstruowania kobiecych bohaterek we współczesnej kulturze popularnej, a także przemianom wzorców kobiecości związanym z rozwojem postfeministycznych narracji. W pracy podjęto również refleksję nad znaczeniem wampiryzmu i przemiany w kontekście kobiecej tożsamości. Przeprowadzone rozważania pozwalają stwierdzić, że zarówno powieść, jak i jej filmowa adaptacja uczestniczą w kształtowaniu współczesnych wyobrażeń o kobiecości.
