dc.abstract.en	This work examines the legal status of police officers in light of contemporary law. The aim is to present the set of rights and obligations of every police officer, the accompanying legal institutions, and the consequences for the officer's life. The first chapter describes the general nature of the Police as an agency tasked with safeguarding public order, its structure, and basic tasks. The second chapter focuses on the service relationship of police officers, the principles of its establishment, and the rights and obligations associated with it. The third chapter addresses the legal protection of officers, including penal mechanisms for police officers themselves, from disciplinary proceedings to dismissal. The final chapter addresses the specifics of off-duty police officers' conduct in private, social affairs, and pensions. The conclusion includes conclusions regarding the legal status of police officers and the potential need for further regulation.
dc.abstract.pl	Niniejsza praca dotyczy statusu prawnego funkcjonariuszy policji w świetle współczesnego prawa. Celem jest ukazanie zestawu praw i obowiązków przypadających na każdego policjanta, towarzyszącym im instytucjom prawnym oraz konsekwencjom w życiu funkcjonariusza. Pierwszy rozdział opisuje ogólnie charakter samej Policji jako organu którego zadaniem jest strzeżenie ładu i porządku publicznego, jego struktury oraz podstawowych zadań. Drugi rozdział skupi się na opisaniu stosunku służbowego policjantów, zasad jego zawiązywania oraz prawom i obowiązkom mu towarzyszącym. Trzeci rozdział porusza temat ochrony prawnej funkcjonariuszy razem z opisaniem mechanizmów penalnych dla samych policjantów, od postępowania dyscyplinarnego do wydalenia ze służby włącznie. Ostatni rozdział dotyczy specyfika pozasłużbowej, zachowania policjanta w życiu prywatnym, spraw socjalnych i emerytalnych. W zakończeniu zawarte zostały wnioski wobec statusu prawnego policjantów oraz ewentualnych potrzeb jego dalszego regulowania.
