Cyfrowa transformacja w komunikacji z fanami marki NBA. Studium przypadku nowych mediów w Polsce

This thesis addresses the issue of digital transformation by analyzing the evolution of fan communication, using the American professional basketball league, the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a case study. The brand’s communication strategies within the new media environment were identified, and the role of content distribution channels in building the engagement of Polish fans was determined. The paper systematizes the conceptual framework related to sports brand management. Furthermore, the phenomena of digital transformation and media convergence were subjected to a detailed analysis. A significant aspect of the research involved describing the evolution of media toward a hybrid ecosystem driven by social media algorithms. Through the use of in-depth interviews, differences in brand perception between representatives of Generation Y and Generation Z were examined. The collected empirical material allowed for the confirmation of the main hypothesis, proving that the participation model of Polish fans has permanently shifted from a linear approach to an individualized and fragmented one. Ultimately, the results highlight the characteristics of contemporary new media and their role in shaping the fan experience.
