Regarder l’animal dans Les Grands Cerfs de Claudie Hunzinger : entre voyeurisme et mimétisme

dc.abstract.en	This study analyzes the portrayal of the gaze directed at animals in Claudie Hunzinger’s Les Grands cerfs through the contrast between voyeurism and mimetism. The analysis focuses on the divergent attitudes of the protagonists: that of Léo, whose camera becomes an instrument of control and symbolic capture (Sontag), and that of Pamina, the narrator, who gradually abandons her hiding spot in favor of a sensory immersion in the deer’s Umwelt (Uexküll). The narrative traces Pamina’s evolution as she seeks to mimic the animal, attempting to break down the boundary between species. By comparing the “crisis of sensibility” (Morizot) with “sensible life” (Coccia), the work demonstrates how this shift in perspective allows one to move beyond anthropocentric alienation. The overall aim is to demonstrate that it is these modes of understanding, rooted in the sensible, that enable us to transform domination into an ethic of coexistence based on shared dignity.

L'analyse se concentre sur les postures divergentes des protagonistes : celle de Léo, dont l'appareil photo devient un instrument de maîtrise et de capture symbolique (Sontag), et celle de Pamina, la narratrice, qui délaisse progressivement l'affût pour une immersion sensorielle dans l'Umwelt (Uexküll) des cerfs. Le récit retrace l'évolution de Pamina qui, en cherchant à mimer l'animal, tente de briser la frontière entre les espèces. En confrontant la « crise de la sensibilité » (Morizot) à la « vie sensible » (Coccia), le travail montre comment ce décentrement permet de sortir de l'aliénation anthropocentrée. L'objectif final est de démontrer que ce sont ces modes de compréhension ancrés dans le sensible qui permettent de transformer la domination en une éthique du côtoiement fondée sur une dignité partagée.

Analiza skupia się na rozbieżnych postawach bohaterów: Léo, którego aparat fotograficzny staje się narzędziem władzy i symbolicznego uchwycenia (Sontag), oraz Paminy, narratorki, która stopniowo porzuca obserwację na rzecz sensorycznego zanurzenia się w Umwelt (Uexküll) jeleni. Opowieść śledzi ewolucję Paminy, która próbując naśladować zwierzę, stara się przełamać granicę między gatunkami. Konfrontując „kryzys wrażliwości” (Morizot) z „życiem wrażliwym” (Coccia), praca pokazuje, w jaki sposób to przesunięcie punktu widzenia pozwala wyjść z antropocentrycznej alienacji. Ostatecznym celem jest wykazanie, że to właśnie te sposoby rozumienia, zakorzenione w sferze zmysłowej, pozwalają przekształcić dominację w etykę współistnienia opartą na wspólnej godności.
