Parlament Unii Europejskiej jako demokratyczny fundament Wspólnoty

dc.abstract.en	The bachelor’s thesis entitled “The European Union Parliament as the democratic foundation of the Community” in its content raises issues related to the democratic functioning of the European Union and the influence of the citizens of the member states on the decisions made in this institution. As the research hypothesis in the thesis was adopted the statement that the European Parliament is an institution that testifies to democratic legitimacy for the European Union, and the main research problem was to answer the question of whether the European Parliament creates and strengthens the democratic character of actions and decisions, taken in the process of enacting Community law and conducting policy at this level. In the analysis of the above issue, the argumentation used seeks to answer questions about what the democratic nature of the functioning of the Community Parliament consists of, how it manifests itself in its daily work, how it affects the functioning of the other main institutions of the Union. The thesis also focuses on the citizen, how he or she is treated by the institutions, the tools available to him or her to influence decisions, and the degree of awareness of what and how he or she can use for this purpose.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca zatytułowana „Parlament Unii Europejski jako demokratyczny fundament Wspólnoty” w swojej treści porusza zagadnienia związane z demokratycznością funkcjonowania Unii Europejskiej oraz wpływem obywateli państw członkowskich na decyzje podejmowane w tej instytucji. Za hipotezę badawczą w pracy przyjęto stwierdzenie, że Parlament Europejski jest instytucją, która świadczy o demokratycznej legitymizacji dla Unii Europejskiej, zaś głównym problemem badawczym była odpowiedź na pytanie, czy Parlament Europejski tworzy i umacnia demokratyczny charakter działań i decyzji, podejmowanych w procesie uchwalania prawa wspólnotowego oraz prowadzenia polityki na tym szczeblu. W analizie powyższego zagadnienia wykorzystana argumentacja dąży do odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące tego, na czym polega demokratyczność funkcjonowania Parlamentu Wspólnoty, jak ona się objawia w jego codziennych pracach, w jaki sposób wpływa ona na funkcjonowanie pozostałych instytucji głównych Unii. Praca skupia się również na obywatelu, sposobie traktowania go przez instytucje, narzędziach jakie są mu dostępne do wywierania wpływu na podejmowane decyzje oraz stopniu świadomości, co i w jaki sposób może w tym celu wykorzystywać.
