Polish Translation of Game Statistics in International Sports Event TV and Streaming Service Broadcasts

dc.abstract.en	The present thesis examines the Polish translation of game statistics in international sports event TV and streaming service broadcasts. The work is divided into two main parts: theoretical and analytical. The former part of the thesis consists of two chapters. The first chapter presents the theoretical background for audiovisual translation and other sports broadcast-related translation modes. The latter discusses data related to international sports events broadcasting. It also addresses the extensive use of sports performance-related statistics in this type of broadcasts. The further part of the thesis is a case study of the 2025 Roland Garros tennis tournament men’s singles final. It concentrates on the analysis of the translation of game statistics performed by the sports commentators during the broadcast of this event. It includes a description of the analysed material, research methods, data collection and processing approaches, formulated research questions, and hypotheses. The data obtained during the study is presented, analysed and interpreted. The author discusses the findings and proposes a solution for translating game statistics. The thesis concludes with suggestions for future research directions in this field.
dc.abstract.pl	Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza polskiego tłumaczenia statystyk meczowych podczas transmisji międzynarodowych wydarzeń sportowych, dostępnych w telewizji i za pośrednictwem platform streamingowych. Praca składa się w dwóch części: teoretycznej oraz analitycznej. W pierwszej części zawarto dwa rozdziały i przedstawiono podstawy teoretyczne z zakresu tłumaczeń audiowizualnych oraz innych rodzajów tłumaczeń mających zastosowanie podczas transmisji wydarzeń sportowych. Skupiono się także na przedstawieniu danych dotyczących transmitowania wydarzeń sportowych oraz prezentacji statystyk meczowych w trakcie ich emisji. W części analitycznej omówiono studium przypadku tłumaczenia statystyk meczowych przez komentatorów sportowych podczas transmisji finału singla mężczyzn wielkoszlemowego turnieju tenisowego Roland Garros 2025. Zawarto w niej opis badanego materiału, metod badawczych, metod pozyskania i przetwarzania danych, sformułowane pytania badawcze oraz hipotezy. Przedstawione zostały wyniki badania, przeprowadzono także ich analizę i interpretację. Autor zaproponował również rozwiązanie dotyczące tłumaczenia statystyk meczowych. Na koniec zaprezentowano wnioski oraz zaproponowano kierunek przyszłych badań w tym obszarze.
