The role of space policy in the development of the Common Security and Defence Policy in the European Union

dc.abstract.enThis dissertation’s aim is to show the supporting role of the EU's Space Policy in the development of Common Safety and Defence Policy, by providing the necessary tools to ensure autonomy in carrying out CSDP-related activities, which is necessary for its development in future by analysing three European Space programmes - Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo in terms of contribution to autonomy and C4ISR determinants. At the end of the dissertation, it is shown that Copernicus and Galileo’s extent of contribution to CSDP is high, and in the case of EGNOS, the extent is rated low, taking into account its dependency on foreign GNSSs. The dissertation concluded that the thesis was proved correct.
dc.abstract.plCelem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie wspierającej roli unijnej Polityki Kosmicznej w rozwoju Wspólnej Polityki Bezpieczeństwa i Obrony, poprzez dostarczanie niezbędnych narzędzi do zapewnienia autonomii w prowadzeniu działań związanych z WPBiO, co jest konieczne dla jej rozwoju w przyszłości, poprzez analizę trzech europejskich programów kosmicznych - Copernicus, EGNOS i Galileo pod kątem wkładu w autonomię i uwarunkowań C4ISR. Na koniec pracy wykazano, że zakres wkładu programów Copernicus i Galileo w WPBiO jest wysoki, a w przypadku EGNOS zakres ten jest oceniany jako niski, biorąc pod uwagę jego zależność od zagranicznych GNSS. W konkluzji rozprawy wykazano słuszność postawionej tezy.
