Dwie partie - obraz Demokratów i Republikanów w amerykańskich animowanych serialach komediowych w latach 1989–2025

dc.abstract.en	The following paper, “Two Parties: The Portrayal of the Democrats and the Republicans in American Animated Comedy Series from 1989 to 2025”, examines the theme of political satire in animated sitcoms from the United States. The paper analyzes how the Democratic Party and Republican Party are portrayed in this genre through an examination of two examples: The Simpsons and South Park. The first chapter is theoretical in nature and focuses on the origins of political comedy and the animated sitcom as a genre. It also aims to provide an overview of the political context of the United States, particularly the issue of its deep-rooted two-party system. The next two chapters deal with the series in question—the second chapter focuses on The Simpsons while the third targets South Park. They begin with a characterization of the series, covering issues of authorship, the history of their creation, a description of the main characters and the fictional world, as well as the production teams behind the series and the influence of the latter on the political views portrayed. The subsequent subsections focus on analyzing examples of political satire presented in the sitcoms across specific presidential administrations. The analysis contained in this thesis is based on materials available on VOD platforms. Newspaper and online articles were used to provide context for the events described and to characterize the characters in question.
dc.abstract.pl	Poniższa praca „Dwie partie - obraz Demokratów i Republikanów w amerykańskich animowanych serialach komediowych w latach 1989–2025” zajmuje się tematyką satyry politycznej w animowanych sitcomach pochodzących ze Stanów Zjednoczonych. Praca analizuje to, jak w gatunku tym przedstawia się Partię Demokratyczną oraz Partię Republikańską, poprzez analizę dwóch przykładów – seriali Simpsonowie oraz Miasteczko South Park. Pierwszy rozdział ma charakter teoretyczny i koncentruje się na genezie komedii politycznej oraz animowanego sitcomu, jako gatunku. Jego celem jest też przybliżenie kontekstu politycznego systemu Stanów Zjednoczonych Ameryki, w szczególności problematyki głęboko zakorzenionej dwupartyjności. Kolejne dwa rozdziały traktują o opisywanych serialach – rozdział drugi o Simpsonach a trzeci o Miasteczku South Park. Rozpoczynają się one charakterystyką omawianych seriali; kwestiami autorstwa, historii powstania, opisem głównych bohaterów oraz świata przedstawionego oraz ekip produkcyjnych stojących za serialami i wpływem ostatniego czynnika na ukazywane poglądy polityczne. Kolejne podrozdziały skupiają się na analizie przykładów przedstawionej w sitcomach satyry politycznej, na przestrzeni konkretnych administracji prezydenckich. Analiza zawarta w pracy powstała w oparciu o materiały dostępne na platformach VOD. W celu przedstawienia kontekstu opisywanych zdarzeń oraz charakterystyki opisywanych postaci wykorzystano artykuły prasowe oraz internetowe.
