„Elegancki rozpad”. Twórczość Martina Margieli jako przykład dekonstruktywizmu we współczesnej modzie.

This thesis is devoted to the presentation and analysis of Martin Margiela's design practices in the context of the presence of deconstruction in fashion since the late 1980s. The aim of the study is to demonstrate that Margiela did not treat deconstruction as a temporary aesthetic trend, but rather as a design method that he consistently developed throughout his career. The point of departure for the thesis is an analysis of the philosophy of Jacques Derrida, which provides a framework for understanding how deconstruction functioned first in architecture and later in fashion. Accordingly, the methodology employed combines formal, iconographic, and iconological analysis with comparative analysis, as well as source and discourse research. The research material consists of an examination of two of Margiela's collections: the debut spring-summer 1989 collection and his final spring-summer 2009 collection. Their juxtaposition allows for the demonstration of the continuity of deconstructive strategies in the designer's work and confirms that deconstruction constituted a significant and enduring element of his design practice, rather than merely a passing interest.
