Motyw Kopciuszka we współczesnej literaturze młodzieżowej i dziecięcej

dc.abstract.en	The master’s thesis analyses the Cinderella theme in contemporary youth and children's literature, with particular emphasis on the reinterpretation of classic fairy tale patterns and their functioning in the context of contemporary cultural realities. The subject of the study includes both classic European fairy tales – Charles Perrault's Cendrillon and the Brothers Grimm's Aschenputtel – as well as contemporary reinterpretations present in youth and children's literature, such as Ashley Poston's Geekerella, Geoffroy de Pennart's Tomek Mechanik and Michał Rusinek's Kopciuszek. The methodology used is comparative analysis, involving a comparison of classic models with their transformations in contemporary versions. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of symbols defining the structure of the Cinderella fairy tale: the slipper, the pumpkin, the ball, the fairy, the prince, magic, the clock, midnight, or the symbolic loss of magic, and how these elements take on new meanings in contemporary texts. The study shows that modern adaptations do not reject fairy tale symbolism, but subject it to creative reinterpretation, adapting it to the needs and experiences of young audiences. These changes indicate a departure from the traditional model of a passive protagonist in favour of more independent, conscious and proactive characters, as well as the replacement of magical solutions with realistic equivalents – technology, friendship or determination. The thesis also considers the psychological dimension of the motif, analysing the Cinderella syndrome, described by Colette Dowling as an attitude of women consisting in an unconscious expectation of external salvation and a lack of faith in their own initiative. Comparing this phenomenon with the content of contemporary works shows that many new reinterpretations consciously depart from the model of a passive protagonist awaiting rescue. Contemporary Cinderellas become independent, ambitious characters who achieve their goals without the need for the intervention of a ‘prince’. In this way, youth and children's literature not only reworks the fairy tale pattern but also responds to important social needs by promoting attitudes based on autonomy, equality and self-acceptance. The analysis proves that the Cinderella motif remains one of the most enduring and flexible elements of the fairy tale tradition. Contemporary reinterpretations preserve its archetypal core while giving it new meanings in line with the sensibilities of young audiences. As a result, the story not only remains relevant, but also takes on a new life, functioning as an educational, cultural and psychological tool for understanding both traditional values and contemporary challenges related to identity and growing up.
dc.abstract.pl	Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest analizie motywu Kopciuszka we współczesnej literaturze młodzieżowej i dziecięcej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem sposobów reinterpretacji klasycznych schematów baśniowych oraz ich funkcjonowania w kontekście współczesnych realiów kulturowych. Przedmiotem badań są zarówno klasyczne europejskie opracowania baśni – Cendrillon Charles’a Perraulta oraz Aschenputtel braci Grimm – jak i współczesne reinterpretacje obecne w literaturze młodzieżowej i dziecięcej, takie jak Geekerella Ashley Poston, Tomek mechanik Geoffroya de Pennarta czy Kopciuszek Michała Rusinka. Zastosowaną metodologią jest analiza porównawcza, obejmująca zestawienie klasycznych wzorców z ich przekształceniami we współczesnych wersjach. Szczególny nacisk położono na analizę symboli definiujących strukturę baśni o Kopciuszku: pantofelka, dyni, balu, wróżki, księcia, magii, zegara, północy, czy też symbolicznej utraty magii oraz na to, w jaki sposób elementy te zyskują nowe znaczenia w tekstach współczesnych. Badanie wykazuje, że nowoczesne adaptacje nie odrzucają symboliki baśniowej, lecz poddają ją twórczej reinterpretacji, dostosowując do potrzeb i doświadczeń młodych odbiorców. Przemiany te wskazują odejście od tradycyjnego wzorca pasywnej bohaterki na rzecz postaci bardziej samodzielnych, świadomych i sprawczych, a także zastępowanie magicznych rozwiązań realistycznymi odpowiednikami – technologią, przyjaźnią czy determinacją. Praca uwzględnia również psychologiczny wymiar motywu, analizując zjawisko syndromu Kopciuszka, opisane przez Colette Dowling jako postawa kobiet polegająca na nieświadomym oczekiwaniu zewnętrznego wybawienia oraz braku wiary we własną sprawczość. Zestawienie tego zjawiska z treścią współczesnych utworów pozwala pokazać, że wiele nowych reinterpretacji świadomie odchodzi od wzorca pasywnej bohaterki oczekującej ratunku. Współczesne Kopciuszki stają się postaciami samodzielnymi, ambitnymi, realizującymi swoje cele bez konieczności ingerencji „księcia”. W ten sposób literatura młodzieżowa i dziecięca nie tylko przetwarza baśniowy schemat, ale także odpowiada na ważne społeczne potrzeby, promując postawy oparte na autonomii, równości i samoakceptacji. Przeprowadzona analiza dowodzi, że motyw Kopciuszka pozostaje jednym z najtrwalszych i najbardziej elastycznych elementów tradycji baśniowej. Współczesne reinterpretacje zachowują jego archetypiczny rdzeń, jednocześnie nadając mu nowe znaczenia zgodne z wrażliwością młodych odbiorców. Dzięki temu historia ta nie tylko nie traci aktualności, ale nabiera nowego życia, funkcjonując jako narzędzie edukacyjne, kulturowe i psychologiczne, pozwalające zrozumieć zarówno tradycyjne wartości, jak i współczesne wyzwania związane z tożsamością i dorastaniem.
