Transformacje w tłumaczeniu literackim i ich skutki interpretacyjne: analiza porównawcza na przykładzie wybranych aspektów postaci Lucyfera w dramacie Kain Lorda Byrona i polskim przekładzie Józefa Paszkowskiego

dc.abstract.en	The subject of the thesis is a comparative analysis of Satan’s discourse. Its three most important aspects (meaning Lucifer’s relationship with Cain, God, and himself) were examined collectively in order to discern differences between the portrayal of the figure of Satan in the source text and its translation. To achieve this objective, the research method proposed by Jan Van Coillie has been applied – it enabled the selection and identification of transformations found in the translation and the analysis of the resulting alterations between both texts. The evaluation of the collected material showed that the changes present in the translation are numerous and that their impact on the portrayal of Satan is significant. This in turn may lead to alternative interpretation of the character of Lucifer. Since the influence of Lord Byron’s works on Polish literature is significant, a study of the differences between the texts seems justified.
dc.abstract.pl	Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza porównawcza wypowiedzi Szatana. Jej trzy najważniejsze aspekty (czyli stosunek Lucyfera do Kaina, do Boga, oraz do samego siebie) zostały opracowane zbiorczo, z myślą o wskazaniu różnic między obrazowaniem postaci Szatana w tekście oryginału i tłumaczeniu. W tym celu zastosowano metodę badawczą zaproponowaną przez Jana Van Coilliego, która umożliwiła określenie transformacji obecnych w przekładzie, ich wyodrębnienie oraz omówienie powstałych alternacji między tekstami. Analiza zebranego materiału wykazała, że zmiany w przekładzie są liczne, a ich wpływ na obrazowanie Szatana znaczący, co może przekładać się na alternatywne interpretacje postaci Lucyfera. Jako że wpływ utworów Lorda Byrona na twórczość rodzimą jest istotny, studium rozbieżności obu tekstów wydaje się uzasadnione.
