dc.abstract.en	This study explores the development of the Village Institutes launched in Türkiye in 1940. The research focuses on the historical context of their establishment, their organisational structure and educational programmes, as well as the political and social factors that led to their closure. The primary sources of the analysis are autobiographical accounts and personal testimonies of Village Institute graduates.
