Estetyka japońskiej mody w stylu Lolita i jej funkcje społeczne

dc.abstract.en	Lolita fashion is the name of a Japanese subculture that developed between the 1970s and 1990s. It is an example of street fashion, which combines mainstream trends with clients' individual preferences. Characteristic traits of the Lolita style include ornamentality, elegance, flared dresses worn with petticoats underneath them and unique headpieces. The aesthetics of the style were influenced by the Victorian era of Western fashion, as well as local Japanese subcultures and the concept of kawaii. The purpose of this thesis is to present the aesthetics of Lolita fashion and to identify its main social functions. Based on Bronisław Malinowski's functional theory, the key social functions of this fashion style are identified by the author as: providing a sense of belonging, shaping identity, influencing the individual's attitude towards their social roles and providing a sense of psychological comfort. The thesis consists of three chapters. In the first one, the author describes the history and aesthetics of Lolita fashion. The second chapter touches on the specificity of the Lolita community in Asia and in the West. In the third chapter, the author analyzes the style's role in the processes of self-expression and self-creation as well as its dimension as a tool of escapism.
dc.abstract.pl	Styl Lolita to japońska subkultura modowa, która rozwijała się od lat 70. do 90. XX wieku. Stanowi ona przykład mody ulicznej, łączącej elementy trendów masowych z indywidualnymi preferencjami konsumentów. Charakterystycznymi cechami stylu są dekoracyjność, elegancja, rozkloszowane sukienki na halkach oraz specyficzne nakrycia głowy. Na jego estetykę wpłynęły zarówno zachodnia moda epoki wiktoriańskiej, jak i lokalne japońskie subkultury oraz koncept kawaii. Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie estetyki stylu Lolita oraz zidentyfikowanie jego głównych funkcji społecznych. W oparciu o teorię funkcjonalizmu Bronisława Malinowskiego, jako kluczowe funkcje społeczne tej subkultury wskazano: zapewnienie poczucia przynależności, kształtowanie tożsamości, wpływ na stosunek jednostki do nadanych jej ról społecznych oraz oferowanie komfortu psychicznego. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym omówiono historię i estetykę subkultury. Rozdział drugi przybliża specyfikę społeczności Lolity w Azji i na Zachodzie. W rozdziale trzecim przeanalizowano rolę tego stylu w procesach samoekspresji i autokreacji, a także jego wymiar jako narzędzia eskapizmu.
