Modele powojennej odbudowy miast i ich realizacja na terenie dawnego dworca PKS w Lublinie

dc.abstract.en	Armed conflicts are one of the main causes of the most severe and rapid deterioration of the urban fabric. The reconstruction of destroyed cities is a process that takes many years and can take various forms. This paper discusses the origins and controversies surrounding the preservation of architectural monuments and urban layouts. The main trends in urban reconstruction following the Second World War were outlined. The second chapter of the paper presents the post-war reconstruction of four locations: Rotterdam, Olsztyn, Elbląg and Granary Island in Gdańsk. An analysis of these cities has enabled the development of three reconstruction models, which may serve as a point of reference in the reconstruction of other damaged urban spaces. An attempt was then made to implement these models on the site of the former long-distance coach station on Tysiąclecia Avenue in Lublin. Prior to the Second World War, this area was home to the Jewish quarter. To facilitate the implementation of the models, the urban development of Lublin and the history of the bus station’s construction were analysed. This was followed by a survey of the existing conditions and a transport, functional and spatial analysis of the project site. The final chapter describes the implementation of the developed reconstruction models on the site of the former bus station in Lublin, and illustrations of these models are included in the graphic appendices. The thesis demonstrates that there is no single correct approach to redevelopment, and that the developed models may serve as a basis for further consideration of the form of future development of the site of the former bus station.
dc.abstract.pl	Konflikty zbrojne są jednym z powodów największych i najszybszych degradacji tkanki miejskiej. Odbudowa zniszczonych miast jest procesem wieloletnim i może przebiegać w zróżnicowany sposób. W pracy omówiono początki oraz kontrowersje związane z ochroną zabytków architektonicznych i układów urbanistycznych. Następnie przedstawiono główne nurty odbudowy miast po II wojnie światowej. Drugi rozdział pracy prezentuje powojenne odbudowy czterech miejsc: Rotterdamu, Olsztyna, Elbląga oraz Wyspy Spichrzów w Gdańsku. Analiza tych miast pozwoliła na wypracowanie trzech modeli odbudowy, które mogą stanowić punkt odniesienia przy procesie odbudowy innych zniszczonych przestrzeni miejskich. Następnie podjęto próbę realizacji wypracowanych modeli na terenie dawnego dworca PKS przy al. Tysiąclecia w Lublinie. Na jego obszarze przed II wojną światową mieściła się dzielnica żydowska. W celu lepszej realizacji modeli został przeanalizowany rozwój urbanistyczny Lublina oraz historia powstania dworca autobusowego. Następnie przedstawiono inwentaryzację stanu istniejącego oraz analizę komunikacyjną i funkcjonalno-przestrzenną na terenu projektu. W ostatnim rozdziale została opisana realizacja wypracowanych modeli odbudowy ta terenie dawnego dworca PKS w Lublinie, a ich zobrazowanie zostało dołączone w załącznikach graficznych. Praca pokazuje, że nie istnieje jeden właściwy sposób dobudowy, a wypracowane modele mogą stać się podstawą do dalszych rozważań nad kształtem przyszłego zagospodarowania terenu dawnego dworca.
