dc.abstract.en	The work addresses the issue of the fairness of juvenile punishment in the Polish legal system. In this context, it discusses in detail not only national legislation, but also international standards on juvenile punishment, such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Guidelines of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on child-friendly justice. The work also answers the question: what factors cause juveniles to commit crimes? And furthermore, what are the effects of applying an extremely repressive model to young people and what would be more appropriate to the needs of a contemporary young person who has committed a criminal act for some reason.

W tym kontekście szczegółowo omówiono nie tylko legislację krajową, ale także międzynarodowe standardy w zakresie karania nieletnich, takie jak: Konwencja o prawach dziecka i Wytyczne Komitetu Ministrów Rady Europy w sprawie wymiary sprawiedliwości przyjaznego dzieciom. Praca odpowiada również na pytanie, jakie czynniki powodują, że nieletni popełniają przestępstwa? A ponadto, jakie skutki ma stosowanie wobec młodych ludzi modelu skrajnie represyjnego i co byłoby bardziej adekwatne do potrzeb współczesnego, młodego człowieka, który z jakiegoś powodu popełnił czyn zabroniony.
