Wizerunek Ukrainy wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego

dc.abstract.enThe aim of the thesis research was to diagnose and analyze the image of Ukraine among students of the University of Warsaw and to identify the factors influencing its formation. The thesis took into account the role of political and historical events, such as Euromaidan, the annexation of Crimea, the war in Donbas and Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, as well as the importance of information sources and the author's personal experiences. It was demonstrated that a country's international image is a dynamic process, dependent on political stability, economic strength, cultural appeal, and social cohesion, with traditional and social media either reinforcing or weakening its development. A particularly important role is played by historical memory, which in Polish-Ukrainian relations balances a difficult past with the experience of cooperation with Ukraine after 2022. The results of the survey indicate that the image of Ukraine among Polish students is shaped primarily by personal contact with Ukrainians, rather than by the media. The war events have improved the perception of Ukraine, although historical and economic issues remain controversial. The hypothesis about the positive impact of direct contact on the perception of Ukraine was confirmed, while the hypotheses regarding the dominant role of the media and differences based on the field of study were not supported. The recommendations emphasized the importance of cultural initiatives, historical education, and the creation of spaces for personal interaction in order to strengthen Ukraine’s positive image.
dc.abstract.plCelem badań pracy dyplomowej było zdiagnozowanie i analiza wizerunku Ukrainy wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego oraz określenie czynników wpływających na jego kształtowanie. Praca uwzględniała rolę wydarzeń politycznych i historycznych, takich jak Euromajdan, aneksja Krymu, wojna w Donbasie czy pełnoskalowa inwazja Rosji w 2022 roku, a także znaczenie źródeł informacji i doświadczeń osobistych autorki. Wykazano, że wizerunek międzynarodowy państwa jest procesem dynamicznym, zależnym od stabilności politycznej, siły gospodarki, atrakcyjności kulturowej i spójności społecznej, a media tradycyjne i społecznościowe wzmacniają lub osłabiają jego kształtowanie. Szczególną rolę odgrywa pamięć historyczna, która w relacjach polsko-ukraińskich równoważy trudną przeszłość z doświadczeniem współpracy z Ukrainą po 2022 roku. Wyniki badań ankietowych wskazują, że obraz Ukrainy wśród polskich studentów kształtują przede wszystkim kontakty osobiste z Ukraińcami, a nie media. Wydarzenia wojenne poprawiły odbiór Ukrainy, choć kwestie historyczne i ekonomiczne nadal budzą kontrowersje. Potwierdzono hipotezę o pozytywnym wpływie bezpośrednich kontaktów na postrzeganie Ukrainy, natomiast nie znaleziono potwierdzenia dla hipotez dotyczących dominującej roli mediów i różnic wynikających z kierunku studiów. W rekomendacjach podkreślono znaczenie inicjatyw kulturalnych, edukacji historycznej i budowania przestrzeni do kontaktów osobistych w celu pogłębiania pozytywnego wizerunku Ukrainy.
