Szekspir na scenie i w grafice. Analiza serii ilustracji almanachowych autorstwa Daniela Chodowieckiego do inscenizacji Hamleta, opublikowanych w Berliner Genealogischen Calender na rok 1779

dc.abstract.en	Daniel Chodowiecki was one of the most outstanding illustrators of his time. The rich legacy he left behind deserves research and sharing with contemporary audiences. This work analyzes a series of twelve illustrations by Daniel Chodowiecki for a production of Hamlet, published in the Berliner Genealogischen Calendar for 1779. The aim of the work was to examine the extent to which Daniel Chodowiecki's illustrations for Hamlet are typical of contemporary graphic productions and the extent to which they constitute an exceptional example of an individual interpretation of the drama. It also examines what distinguishes them from other Hamlet illustrations of the time and whether the presence of captions and quotations alters the reception of the work. Additionally, a formal and iconographic analysis of the series was undertaken, comparing it with other Hamlet illustrations from the period, and examining the theatrical and publishing context in which it was created. The analysis of the illustrations highlights the coherence and precision of Chodowiecki's engravings. A significant issue that emerges in this work is the role of illustrations as a medium for documenting and popularizing Shakespeare's work. The work discusses Chodowiecki's work and the importance of almanacs as a vehicle for 18th-century literary and visual culture.
dc.abstract.pl	Daniel Chodowiecki był jednym z najbardziej znakomitych rysowników swojego czasu. Bogaty dorobek, który po sobie zostawił, zasługuje na badania i przybliżanie współczesnym. Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza cyklu dwunastu ilustracji Daniela Chodowieckiego do inscenizacji Hamleta, opublikowanych w Berliner Genealogischen Calendar na rok 1779. Celem pracy było zbadanie, na ile ilustracje Daniela Chodowieckiego do Hamleta są typowe dla ówczesnej produkcji graficznej, a na ile stanowią wyjątkowy przykład indywidualnej interpretacji dramatu. Zbadano także, co wyróżnia je na tle innych ilustracji Hamleta tego czasu oraz czy obecność podpisów i cytatów zmienia odbiór dzieła. Dodatkowo podjęta została analiza formalno-ikonograficzna cyklu, porównanie go z innymi ilustracjami Hamleta z tego okresu oraz zbadanie kontekstu teatralnego i wydawniczego, w którym powstał. Analiza ilustracji podkreśla spójność i precyzyjność rycin wykonanych przez Chodowieckiego. Istotnym zagadnieniem pojawiającym się w pracy jest rola ilustracji jako medium dokumentacyjnego i popularyzującego twórczość Szekspira. W pracy omówiono twórczość Chodowieckiego i znaczenie almanachów jako nośnika kultury literackiej i wizualnej XVIII wieku.
