The Interplay of Selected Individual Difference, Autonomy and Occupational Burnout in EFL Teachers: A Case Study

dc.abstract.en	The present Master's thesis represents a case analysis addressing the interplay between individual differences, autonomy and occupational burnout among foreign language teachers. The theoretical section discusses the nature and models of occupational burnout and highlights the specific characteristics of foreign language teaching as a profession particularly vulnerable to this phenomenon. It examines the role of autonomy and individual teacher characteristics (psychological resilience, personality traits and coping styles) in shaping professional well-being. The empirical section is based on original research aimed at identifying the levels of autonomy and occupational burnout within the studied group, as well as investigating the relationships between individual characteristics, autonomy and occupational burnout. The findings point to the need to foster teacher autonomy and to account for individual differences in their career path and expected outcomes.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca stanowi studium przypadku, które odnosi się do wzajemnych oddziaływań pomiędzy indywidualnymi różnicami, autonomią a wypaleniem zawodowym u nauczycieli języków obcych. W części teoretycznej omówiono istotę i modele wypalenia zawodowego, przedstawiono specyfikę pracy nauczyciela języków obcych jako zaowdu szczególnie podatnego na to zjawisko. Dokonano analizy roli autonomii i cech indywidualnych nauczyciela (odporności psychicznej, osobowości, stylów radzenia sobie ze stresem) w kształtowaniu jego dobrostanu zawodowego. Część empiryczna została oparta na badaniach własnych, mających na celu wskazanie poziomu autonomii i wypalenia zawodowego w badanej grupie, jak również zbadania zależności pomiędzy cechami indywidualnymi, autonomią i wypaleniem zawodowym. Wnioski, jakie pojawiły się w badaniach wskazują na potrzebę wspierania autonomii nauczycieli, jak również uwzględniania różnic indywidualnych w ich ścieżce zawodowej i oczekiwanych osiągnięciach.
