Kompozycja i treść „Uczty” Platona w świetle wybranych interpretacji

dc.abstract.en	The paper contains an analysis of the composition of Plato’s Symposium in the context of selected interpretations. The analysis is conducted accepting the traditional structural division into three parts comprising: early speeches, Socrates’ speech and Alcibiades’ speech. Each section is presented in its essence, which leads to formulating assumptions about their meaning, as well as structural and compositional roles in the dialogue. The author agrees with a view that is popular among modern scholars, which states that the speeches before Socrates’ speech are not fully rejected or approved but rather revised in the later part of the work. The paper acknowledges some similarity between the above-mentioned issue and the general form of Plato’s dialogues as well as the form of Socrates’ teachings. Moreover, it draws attention to how it is also in harmony with the teaching of Diotima which also involves a gradual progress towards the truth. The central part of the paper focuses on the speech of Diotima. The presented view states that this section is rightly regarded as the most important part of the dialogue and the most accurate manifestation of platonic views in Symposium. The author also argues that it serves a compositional role of a connector between the other sections of the work. The last section of the paper contains a critical analysis of selected interpretations regarding the speech of Alcibiades. The author argues for reading this passage as multilayered as it probably serves several roles in the dialogue. Furthermore, the author highlights some of the possible connections of Alcibiades’ speech with earlier sections of the dialogue.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca stanowi analizę kompozycji Uczty Platona w kontekście wybranych nurtów interpretacyjnych dialogu. Analizę przeprowadzono przyjmując tradycyjny podział strukturalny dialogu na trzy główne części: pierwsza część obejmuje wczesne mowy, druga zawiera mowę Sokratesa, trzecia zaś – mowę Alcybiadesa. W pracy przedstawiona jest w zarysie treść każdej z części, a następnie formułowane są hipotezy odnośnie ich roli w dialogu, wzajemnych relacji pomiędzy częściami oraz tego, jak składają się na całość dialogu. Autor przychyla się do powszechnej u współczesnych badaczy opinii, że mowy wygłoszone przed mową Sokratesa nie są w późniejszej części dialogu całkowicie odrzucone ani zaakceptowane, lecz są zrewidowane. Praca zwraca uwagę na podobieństwo takiej formy kompozycyjnej z dialektyczną formą nauk Platona oraz Sokratesa, a także z charakterystyką przedstawionych w Uczcie nauk Diotymy, jako że wszystkie z nich polegają na stopniowym zbliżaniu się do poznawania prawdy. Centralna część pracy skupia się na znaczeniu mowy Diotymy oraz uzasadnia, dlaczego ta część słusznie traktowana jest powszechnie jako najistotniejsza w kontekście poglądów Platona. Znajduje się w niej również argumentacja za tym, by tę część traktować jako zwornik kompozycyjny dialogu. W końcowej części pracy autor dokonuje krytycznej analizy wybranych interpretacji mowy Alcybiadesa, argumentując za wielowymiarowością tego fragmentu dialogu oraz ukazuje potencjalne relacje pomiędzy tym fragmentem a resztą dialogu.
