El futbolista como héroe nacional: el culto a Lionel Messi en Argentina ejemplificado por los murales que representan su imagen

dc.abstract.en	The work presents the figure of Leo Messi, who after a series of successes became the national hero of Argentina. Its aim is to show the cult of the Argentine sportsman in his native country based on the murals depicting him, as well as the strong connection between football and Argentine identity. The attention is paid also to the role of the murals themselves, which not only focus on showing Messi’s football successes, but also on consolidating his status as a national symbol, and are interpreted as works of art. The work presents seven murals, the analysis of which uses iconographic and visual analysis methods, based on scientific and journalistic sources, articles from the sports press, databases and content published in social media. There are discussed the issues of the practice of “sanctifying” sportsmen and the existential dimension of football. In relation to the above phenomena we can talk about a relationship of real closeness that is established between leading figures of the world of sports and their fans.

dc.abstract.other	El trabajo presenta la figura de Leo Messi, quien tras una serie de éxitos se convirtió en el héroe nacional de Argentina. Su objetivo es mostrar el culto al argentino en su país natal a partir de murales que lo representan, así como la fuerte conexión entre el fútbol y la identidad argentina. Es importante también el papel de los propios murales que no solo se centran en mostrar los éxitos futbolísticos de Messi, sino también en consolidar su estatus como símbolo nacional, y son interpretados como obras de arte. El trabajo presenta siete murales, en cuyo análisis se utiliza métodos iconográficos y visuales, basados en fuentes científicas, periodismo de opinión, artículos de prensa deportiva, bases de datos y contenidos publicados en redes sociales. En la tesis se abordan las cuestiones de la práctica de “santificar” a los deportistas y la dimensión existencial del fútbol. Se puede hablar, en relación con los fenómenos mencionados, de una relación de auténtica cercanía entre los personajes más destacados del mundo del deporte y sus aficionados.
dc.abstract.pl	Praca przedstawia postać Leo Messiego, który po serii sukcesów stał się bohaterem narodowym Argentyny. Jej celem jest ukazanie kultu Argentyńczyka w rodzimym kraju w oparciu o przedstawiające go murale, a także ukazanie silnego związku między futbolem i argentyńską tożsamością. Istotne jest w związku z tym rozważenie roli samych murali, które nie tylko skupiają się na ukazaniu piłkarskich sukcesów Messiego, lecz także na utrwaleniu jego statusu jako narodowego symbolu, oraz interpretowane są jako dzieła sztuki. W pracy zestawiono siedem murali, przy analizie których wykorzystano metody analizy ikonograficznej i wizualnej, w oparciu o źródła naukowe, publicystyczne, artykuły z prasy sportowej, bazy danych oraz treści opublikowane w mediach społecznościowych. Poruszone zostały kwestie praktyki „uświęcania” sportowców, oraz egzystencjalnego wymiaru piłki nożnej. W odniesieniu do wymienionych zjawisk można mówić o relacji realnej bliskości, jaka nawiązywana jest między czołowymi postaciami świata sportu i ich kibicami.
