Społeczna działalność Instytutu Propagandy Sztuki na przykładzie II Międzynarodowej Wystawy Plastyczek

W niniejszej pracy magisterskiej opisałam działalność Instytutu Propagandy Sztuki, który funkcjonował w latach 30. XX w Warszawie. Odtworzyłam sytuację w warszawskim środowisku artystycznym w okresie kształtowania się Instytutu. Ukazałam działalność IPS-u w kontekście jednej wybranej wystawy - II Międzynarodowej Wystawy Plastyczek, która odbyła się w październiku 1934 r. Program wystawy realizował założenia wystawiennicze i społeczne Instytutu, wystawa odbiła się szerokim echem w recenzjach pogłębiając dyskusję nad zasadnością organizacji wystaw sztuki kobiet. Nakreśliłam początki wystaw artystek w Polsce i starałam się wyodrębnić kluczowe powody nieobecności artystek w historii sztuki. Przywołałam najważniejsze postulaty naukowczyń zajmujących się problematyką sztuki kobiet i sztuki feministycznej. Streściłam karierę artystyczną kilku polskich artystek wystawiających swoje dzieła na II MWP, aby ukazać indywidualną historię kilku kobiet, które zmagały się z ugruntowanymi stereotypami w środowisku artystycznym, dodatkowo w nowej sytuacji jaką była profesjonalizacja pracy zawodowej kobiet.

In this master's thesis, I described the activities of the Institute of Art Propaganda, which operated in the 1930s in Warsaw. I recreated the situation in the Warsaw artistic community during the formation of the Institute. I showed the activity IPS in the context of one selected exhibition - the 2nd International Exhibition of Women Artists, which took place in October 1934. The exhibition program implemented the exhibition and social assumptions of the Institute, the exhibition received wide attention in reviews, deepening the discussion on the validity of organizing exhibitions of women's art. I outlined the beginnings of exhibitions by women artists in Poland and tried to isolate the key reasons for the absence of women artists in the history of art. I mentioned the most important demands of female scientists issues of women's art and feminist art. I summarized the artistic careers of several Polish artists exhibiting their works at the 2nd MWP in order to show the individual stories of several women who struggled with established stereotypes in the artistic environment, additionally in the new situation of professionalization of women's professional work.
