Abstrakt (EN)

An increasing number of immigrants arrive in our country, not all of whom treat Poland only as a transit stop on their way to wealthier countries of the Western Europe. For the Polish society, culturally and linguistically homogenous, it means a direct confrontation with cultural and religious otherness, represented by settling newcomers. Unfortunately, our educational establishments are not properly prepared to take in students with migration experience. The entire situation also poses an enormous challenge for Polish glottodidactics, active in the process of acculturation of the foreigners. The actions taken are primarily focused on organising and conducting classes in Polish as a second language. An important element ensuring proper execution of the process described is education of teachers, presentation of which is a principal goal of this text.
