Domestykacja i uniwersalizacja w adaptacjach dla młodzieży: polskie i judeohiszpańskie "Podróże Guliwera"

Artykuł stanowi komparatystyczne studium dwóch adaptacji Podróży Guliwera, które ukazały się na przełomie XIX i XX w. w dwóch różnych polisystemach literackich: polską wersję Aleksandry Callier (1908) i wersję judeohiszpańską Aleksandra Ben Ghiata (1897). Poza miejscem obu adaptacji w systemach literackich swoich czasów i kultur porównane zostały wybrane kwestie językowe, narratologiczne, elementy świata przedstawionego, konstrukcja bohatera, zabiegi domestykacyjne i kwestia przynależności gatunkowej obu adaptacji. Analiza wykazała znacznie dalej idącą domestykację wersji polskiej kontrastującą z uniwersalizującym efektem usunięcia realiów w wersji judeohiszpańskiej. Obie wersje wpisują się jednoznacznie w ramy gatunkowe powieści przygodowej, także za sprawą zapożyczeń z innych tekstów, w tym ewidentnie przygodowych.

The paper presents a comparative study of two adaptations of Gulliver’s travels which appeared at the turn of the 20th century in two different literary polysystems: a Polish adaptation by Aleksandra Callier (1908) and a Ladino adaptation by Alexandr Ben Ghiat. The paper discusses the respective places of both adaptations in the two literary systems, select narratological and genre related issues, as well as matters concerning the representation of the world, the protagonist, and the presence and absence of domestication and linguistic adaptation. The analysis shows that the Polish version is strongly domesticated whereas the Ladino one stripped of most realia acquires a universal character. Both versions inscribe themselves with in the adventure story genre, among others due to borrowings from other literary texts.
